I just wanted to send a short note of gratitude towards all of you who attended my gig at L’Orient i Linköping. During the last few months my inspiration has been running low but you made all the difference. The concert reminded me of all the things that make this music thing worthwhile. I had a blast and hope to see you all again soon. I would also like to thank Bad Sign Bluesband for gear and good spirit, Great Jazz Club that booked me and the host of the evening Sami. Slim 2008-10-16 New CD next year! Yes!!! There will be a new CD next year. I’ve already started to work on new songs but I will dig even deeper during the next couple of months. This mean that I will lock my door and stay at home most of the time and not tour that much during the Winter of 2008/2009. The plan is to enter the studio in January. So the tour of The Netherlands is pretty much the next big thing when it comes to concerts. I’ll you more about both the recording and the tour later. 2008-10-06 Västerås I’m going to Västerås this Friday. I will support the legendary Sven Zetterberg and his trio (Hank and Stoffe) at 2 Lingon & Blåbär (http://www.bluemonday.se). I have a special kind of relationship to Västerås. For a couple of years in the late 90’s I spent a lot of time in Västerås playing with Little Slim & The Roadmasters. A band that featured the amazing Ari Hautala and the great bass player Eric Troestler. I learned a lot from these guys that had such a deep knowledge of blues, r&b and rockabilly and we shared some really good times. These days you can find Ari in the wonderful traditional blues band Paul & The Blue Delivery and Eric in the Psychobilly band Thee Suspenders. Check them out! See you on Friday! 2008-09-29 BLUES MATTERS! & GITARZYSTA I've been interviewed by 2 VERY important magazines. I've been informed that the leading British blues magazine BLUES MATTERS! (www.bluesmatters.com)will publish an interview with me in the next issue (that's no.46). I was also interviewed last week for the BIG (think Guitar Player) polish guitar mag GITARZYSTA (http://www.magazyngitarzysta.pl). Always great with some publicity. 2008-09-25 This weekend It’s time for some swinging traditional blues this weekend! I will, once again, join my friends in Sick’n Blues for a night at Baccus in Norrköping this Saturday. I do not have the exact time that we will enter the stage but you can call Baccus at 011-10 07 40 to get more information. My appearance the day after at Garnisonskyrkan is NOT A SLIDIN’ SLIM gig. This is a musical evening with Skallbom and no blues will played. I will not play at Östersunds Bluesfestival this year. 2008-09-18 SATYRBLUES 2008 Satyrblues 2008 What can I possibly say to describe this experience? Well, sometimes it is damn hard to be a musician and sometimes it’s like a day on the beach and on a few VERY rare occasions it’s like you died and went to heaven. That’s Satyrblues in Tarnobrzeg, Poland my friends. The people (Victor and his great co-workers) treated us like Kings and with a guy like Adam (interpreter, driver and photographer) by our side we felt totally relaxed at all times. It is at times like this I feel that I’m doing what I’m supposed to do with my life. We did TV and radio interviews, signed CD’s forever (!!!) and just had a blast making new friends (Nick and Niels sure did enjoy that polish beer until dawn…). I would also like to say THANK YOU to the people that attended the festival, bought my CD and showed us kindness and appreciation. We hope to meet you all soon again. Vilken fantastiskt kväll det blev! Vi är oerhört glada att så många valde att dela kvällen med oss. Vi vill också rikta ett extra stort tack till Firstnighter som inledde kvällen på ett fantastiskt sätt, Fredrik och Jonathan som som tog hand om tekniken och Ann-Charlotte som hjälpte till med insläpp och efterarbete. Utan er att vi aldrig kunnat genomföra konserten. Nu laddar vi för Polen om en vecka. Slim 2008-08-21 Sagateatern I hope you all have had a great summer. I’ve enjoyed mine a lot. Some rest and relaxation and a couple of nice gigs too. The gig at Gröna Hästen in Laholm was great and I enjoyed meeting the owner and former head of Östersunds Bluesfestival Per Forsberg again. He and the audience treated me like a king and I hope to come back next year too. I also played at Göta Källare together with Sick’n Blues last week and I think things worked out extremely good. Good audience too. The owners have decided, after many many years in the biz, to sell the place. I wish them luck in future and send them a big thank you for all the great gigs I’ve enjoyed at their place over the last 10 years. THE SOULBASTARDS and FIRSTNIGHTER at SAGATEATERN In just a few weeks it’s time for my gig with the Soulbastards at Sagateatern. It’s going to be a blast. We've rehearsed a few times now and the band sound VERY rough and mean. So please stay away from this gig if you prefer your blues safe and soft. There’s a very limited amount of tickets available now at Musikbörsen in Linköping. The remaining tickets will be sold at Sagateatern before the gig. By the way the amazing singer/songwriter Firstnighter will open up for us. Don’t miss her, she’s bound to be a star very soon. See you there! 2008-06-29 MY CONCERT AT SÖDERPORT KALMAR To those of you who missed my concert at Söderport in Kalmar last week! Due to a mistake from the club they announced my small concert to 21.00 on their website instead of 20.00 that was the real time. I’m very sorry about this but I believe that all of you understand that there was nothing that I could’ve done about this. This particular night the main thing was an open stage for whoever wanted to play and I would NEVER dream of stealing stage time from other musicians. Especially young people in need of stage experience. My time on stage was between 20.00-21.00, that was what they offered me when I was booked to do this gig. For those of you who missed out on my gig and arrvived to Söderport too late I would like to offer you all 1 free CD as a compensation for this. Just mail me and I’ll send you a CD a.s.a.p. I will also do whatever I can to book a new gig in Kalmar as soon as I can and I hope to meet you there.
